The idea of a Blue Ridge Parkway Wedding is very close to our hearts, as we look back on our big traditional wedding and wish we could have done the same. It is always exciting to help couples define just the right day – and not based on anyone else’s expectations!
Blue Ridge Parkway Wedding Anniversary
Andrea & Jarred – Part 2
In Part 1 we were chased away by the rain as we re-created a Black Balsam Knob wedding “first-look.” Thankfully, we found a dry spot at an overlook on the Parkway. For a short time the fog lifted and we had amazing views!
Remembering 5 years of Adventures Together
With the rain still a distance away we all could relax a bit. Andrea & Jarred shared a little about the adventures they’ve experienced over 5 years together – and it was quite entertaining!
Listening to them recount their trip to Cambodia was especially interesting. Not everyone is willing to travel to a foreign country – much less doing so with an open, spontaneous itinerary. Their adventurous nature had such an impact on us! (Check out their video in this post where they recall that time they had to ride bikes through alleyways!)
Our backup location – Roy Taylor Forest Overlook – had a short path to a viewing platform just off to the side. With the weather still cooperating we walked out to enjoy the views from another vantage point. Not exactly the hike we had planned up at Black Balsam Knob, but at least it was dry!
Would you like to share a few words?
Ever get into that moment when you finally decide to share a few things off the top of your head – and freeze up completely? It happens to the best of us. Jarred – who is normally the talkative type – basically froze up when he tried to share a few words about Andrea. Then we all started laughing – the ice was broken – and he said the sweetest things about her thoughtfulness and caring nature. (Watch that moment in their highlights video!)
Of course – you just can’t let heartfelt words go without a kiss…
A Blue Ridge Parkway Wedding Celebration
Time to pop the bubbly! Just before the rain caught up with us, we had enough time to celebrate. Jarred shot the cork clear across the overlook parking lot (great form!). Of course, camping cups (instead of wine glasses) are the perfect fit for these two.
Don’t miss part 1 where we made the best out of the rain showers at Black Balsam Knob. Next up we find one more stop on the way to Brevard for dinner – and celebrate a Looking Glass Falls Wedding Anniversary!
