Looking for Small Wedding Venues in Greenville, SC? We’ve got a list for you – of inexpensive wedding venues near Greenville! These are very affordable for your a beautiful, intimate wedding!

With so many other resources highlighting venues for larger (and more costly) weddings, we wanted to make a list for you that focuses on small wedding venues in (or nearby) Greenville, SC that would be a much better fit for your elopement or intimate family wedding.

These venues are quite affordable, and they won’t make you feel like you’re having a “lesser” wedding just because you have a short guest list.

As elopement photographers, we are always on the lookout for unique venues to recommend to our couples who want a blend of experiences on their wedding day. Maybe you want to combine a “just us” elopement with a family reception later in the day. Or you want to find a spot that blends your personal style and an intimate setting all into one. Here’s just a few places we know & we’d be happy to help you find just the right one for you!

Small Wedding Venues in Greenville SC – for Outdoor Elopements and Intimate Weddings

Hike to an Adventurous spot for your outdoor wedding

If you love the outdoors, why not make your wedding an adventurous one? There are options near Greenville that we bet will surprise you. This mountain view location below is only about 40min from downtown Greenville, but feels like a world away. It’s a really great spot for a winter, early spring or late fall elopement since the elevation is much lower than the mountains of NC.

Bring the family to a beautiful mountain view

Looking for an option to bring your family who might be up for the hike? Here is one of our favorites which is just over an hour from Greenville. Recommended for groups up to 10, this spot has a moderate sized parking lot, pit toilets and only a short walk up to the views!

Experience a secluded and historic bridge

Even closer to Greenville and tucked away off the beaten path, this historic bridge is a beautiful setting for up to a group of 10 as well! Parking is rather small but it’s not a super busy tourist spot – especially during the week or weekend mornings. Listening to the creek under the bridge as you say your vows is quite the experience!

Experience a cool mountain waterfall as your wedding venue

Do you love the romantic vibes of falling water? One of the best kept secrets of the Greenville area is the variety of waterfalls. Since the Upstate is right on the edge of the Blue Ridge escarpment, there’s lots to choose from! Many are only good for viewing or hiking … but we know the best ones for a wedding ceremony!

Rent a Gorgeous House as a Small Wedding Venue

This is one of our favorite “hacks” – rent a beautiful house and have a backyard wedding with gorgeous scenery as your backdrop!

Here is a selection of properties that sleep at least 10 in beautiful, natural settings:

Come Sleep in the Trees – Treehouse Wedding Venues near Greenville

Come Sleep in the Trees are a pair of family owned luxury treehouses tucked away in the mountains just outside of Greenville, SC. These wedding venues are an upcoming, hidden find in the area!

Treehouse Wedding Venue

Treehouse Wedding Venue

The treehouses of Bella Luna and Stella Vista can be reserved separately or together. For an elopement for just the two of you, one would be just fine. Or if you’re having a small wedding with a few guests, renting both can give you a “his” and “hers” way to keep apart during your “getting ready.”

What makes these treehouses stand out from other Airbnb properties in the area is the owner’s personalized attention to detail for guests. They have a background in wedding coordination, so you’re not just “renting a space” so much as you’re getting a new friend who will help your own beautiful wedding!

Check out our in-depth blog post about these treehouse wedding venues or visit the Come Sleep in the Trees website for more information as well.

The Bridge at Sunset (Eastatoee Bridge)

The Bridge at Sunset is also a family owned venue, set right on the Eastatoee River northwest of Greenville, SC. Just around the corner from one of the Cliffs communities, it’s easy to drive right by this location on Cleo Chapman Highway if you don’t know to look for it!

Did you know there is actually a small “town” in SC by the name of Sunset? This is where this wedding venue takes it’s name. For most of the year, the golden hour of sunset is at a usable angle at this location, which is a great benefit!

We would categorize The Bridge at Sunset wedding venue as outdoors, although there are 3 structures which qualify as covered. The bridge itself, pictured above; a smaller gazebo structure; and a mini-cottage style building where you’ll find the restroom (the latter two are pictured below):

The front of the property is an expansive front lawn, perfect for an outdoor ceremony and/or for a reception tent (just in case it rains, or to get shade from the sun).

For sure, don’t miss after the sun goes down and the bridge lights up!

The folks who own the Bridge at Sunset are super nice people. We’ve seen in person what they do to make your wedding day just right. Feel free to reach out to them on their website!

Hotel Domestique – an Upscale vibe for your intimate wedding

Wait – did we just list George Hincapie’s hotel as a small and affordable option? Yes – yes we did!

The word “affordable” might not come to mind when considering George’s upscale hotel (especially when it comes to weddings). While there are plenty of big, expensive weddings there each year – they do have a great option for smaller experiences!

It might not be apparent from their website, but the lobby fireplace area works well for a small wedding! The tall ceiling and windows let in plenty of natural light (not always the case for indoor ceremonies!). The stone staircase adds just the right amount of drama for your entrance. There is enough space to seat around 20 people, which is perfect for an intimate experience.

When you’re ready for sunset photos after your ceremony, you have the Blue Ridge mountains in the background. If for some reason the weather doesn’t cooperate, you always have the building nearby. One of Greenville’s best kept secrets for a small wedding venue! (P.S. last we heard it’s right around $1k for this space, very reasonable!)

Skyuka Mountain Road & Community

So we admit – this one is a little out there, literally! This gem of a spot is one of the best kept overlook secrets between Asheville and Greenville. It doesn’t really fit into any category well as far as venues go. But if you’re wanting to be different from everyone else, looking for a small intimate setting and have a streak of adventure – take a moment to consider this location. You’ll see why they call this the place of million dollar views!

The top of Skyuka Mountain Rd is about an hour away from Greenville. At the very edge of the road at the top is the PERFECT place to look off into the Blue Ridge Mountains together and enjoy the quiet of the day together.

This narrow slice of land just off the road is public property, owned by the State of North Carolina. Almost everything you see before you is NC Gamelands – and just behind you is the private community of Skyuka, just outside of Columbus, NC.

Why would we include this in our list?

Because there are a good selection of large Airbnb properties on the mountain! We have taken couples here before to enjoy this space and it’s a definite favorite. If you want a mountaintop experience for your wedding day, but also the flexibility of a beautiful house nearby for getting ready and a family reception – this spot rivals anything we’ve seen around Asheville or the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just look at those views!

For more about this option check out our in-detail blog post about this Blue Ridge Mountain wedding spot. To see an up-to-date list of available Airbnb properties, follow this link. Or if you look at just one, check out this luxury home with gorgeous views from the deck!
